Kansas City Copier

Kansas City Copier is the web presence for R.K. Black, Inc., a factory-authorized dealer for Kyocera, Sharp, and Canon who has been serving the Kansas City metropolitan area since 2008. The project is a ground-up rebuild of a large, established business site — moving to a modern static HTML architecture on Vultr CloudPanel with a custom design system built around the company's brand colors (red #E31837, gold #FFB81C) and a clean, B2B-focused layout that positions the dealership as the local authority for office equipment sales, leasing, and service.

The scope is substantial: the full site spans 350+ pages covering every product line, machine model, service offering, and leasing option in the catalog. That includes dedicated pages for Kyocera copier leasing, Sharp copier leasing, Canon products, department-specific solutions, service area pages for the KC metro and surrounding counties, a blog with content dating back to 2008, and location and contact pages. Every page is built as a self-contained static HTML file — no CMS, no database, no build step. Fast, secure, and completely portable.

The design went through an iterative exploration phase with 20 homepage concepts built as live variants on a Netlify showcase before the production direction was locked in. The chosen design uses a signature diagonal split hero, full-width alternating content sections, and trust-signal blocks featuring years in business, brand certifications, and service area reach. The site is deployed to a Vultr CloudPanel VPS with Nginx, clean URL routing, gzip compression, and custom 404 handling.
